So we still don’t have water yet (our neighbor has to pay his bill still), which makes 2 weeks , but it rained a ton the other day which was a blessing. We were able to fill up some of those office water cooler things and a bucket with water from the spout of the side of the house. We took out dishes out side too, so we could wash them in the spout there. We also filled the sink that we use to wash clothes because we ran out. It was out last day with clean clothes. The water should be back on today or tomorrow. Our neigher said he would pay his bill, but he has been saying that for a while, so we´ll see what happens. We have been going to a member’s house to take showers, for the last while now.
Training is pretty intersesting. So I am training Elder Madeux. He is actually from Blaine, Minnesota but I didn’t know him until now. He only has one less transfer than me but he was waiting a while in the States. We get along pretty well (but I guess it has only been a week). He speaks pretty well but can’t really understand anything. Sometimes I laugh – but not at him – more just because I remember exactly what it was like and how it was.
Yesterday, we went to an investigator’s house, they were having a party and everyone was a little tipsy, but the daughter came out to talk with us. He couldn’t understand anything that was going on because she was talking really fast a little drunk. But she ended up giving us her number and really pleading for us to call her. She is trying really hard to stop drinking and relapsed at her Dad´s house during this party. But she really wants to change her life and feels kind of abandoned by God, even though she says she knows God is there.
After this we went to another investigators house. It was actually other Elders that found her. She was praying for help, and immediately they turned the corner and talked with her. She has a really difficult life and says we are helping her a ton.
Vinicius is an investigator that is a member´s friend, and wow was he prepared for the Gospel. Before we even started teaching him he was talking about how he wants to serve a mission and if he had to take off his tattoo he would do it to serve a mission. And when we talk to him about the Word of Wisdom, he had been drinking coffee but he said if you guys tell me to stop, I´ll stop right now. He is set to be baptized this Sunday. I sure hope everything works out.
I got super sick last week. I threw up twice on the street and then twice more in the public hospital there. We actually have an insurance plan that is really good here but it was more urgent so we went to the closest place, which I wouldn’t mind never seeing again. But now I feel a lot better. I drank some milk that went bad. The milk is treated different here, and it is only good for a few days after you open it but you can’t smell it when it goes bad. Unfortenately, I had to learn this the hard way.
